Though he is just a boy, this fayth is believed to be the oldest of them all, created long before the Machina War and salvaged by Bevelle soon after it's end from the ruins of Zanarkand. Though he can be described as the spoils of war, he appears to serve Bevelle willingly nonetheless. He is the fayth the party have the most dealings with and is often descibed as the representative of the fayth overall.

Even if you defeat Sin with the Final Summoning. Yu Yevon will live.
Yu Yevon will join with the Final Aeon.
He will transform it into a new Sin.
Yuna: Yu Yevon merges with the aeon...
Then, protected by this new Sin he has creeated,
Yu Yevon continues the summoning.
Tidus: For eternity... huh?

Tidus: Uh-huh.
Yu Yevon lives inside Sin.
Yuna, listen.
When you fight Yu Yevon, we will help you.
Promise me you'll summon us.

Tidus: I'm not!
**Tidus turns to leaves.**
