We use a third party tool - Sitemeter - for collecting site statistics. We use those statistics to see which forum topics generate more interest and which areas of the site we should develop more. This is not unique to our site. Most sites collect this information either directly or via third party statistics gatherers like Sitemeter. Whenever you request a page through your browser, data such as your IP address, browser and version, OS, date and time and the site from which you came are stored in a log file and/or database at Sitemeter or at a host. In our site this information is not used to identify specific individuals, it is only used by us for site administration, research and development. We have recently been made aware that sitemeter also uses the information gathered by them in any site that uses sitemeter for anonymous user analysis. Rest assured that we value your right to privacy and we will discontinue the use of their tool if we learn that sitemeter is not keeping our users anonymity.

We cannot and will not collect e-mail addresses and other personal information from users who simply browse pages. However, we do collect the e-mail addresses of those who post messages on our forums, and from time to time, the Administrators of this board may need to send you email notices. This will only be done for matters of great importance, and will not be used for SPAM purposes. You are also able to receive email notifications for watched topics and private message receipts sent automatically via the board software itself. These can be opted out of should you choose to enable them.

If the "Always show my e-mail address:” option is set to "NO", then your email address will only be seen by moderators and administrators. In that event, your email address will not be disclosed to any third party.

We provide the PM - Private Messaging system - as a convenient way for forum users to communicate with each other and with moderators and site administrators. However, as these PM's are stored within our database in an unencrypted form, they can be read by those with database access. Rest assured that only the most senior administrators of this site (currently Aurons Ghost and Renmiri) have sufficient permissions to access this information, and no one within this group will read it or give out said messages to a third party.
